Water buffalo from Swabia?

Yes, they exist! Water buffalo are becoming increasingly popular here as they are used in nature conservation areas, where they are allowed to live in large pastures and fields. Where water buffalo graze, many plants are finally able to grow, and many animal species find a new home there.

The animals are absolute specialists when it comes to moorlands. Where machines can no longer be used or would cause too much damage, the water buffalo come into play, as their physical characteristics allow them to cope very well with swampy terrain.

Of course, the water buffalo are also slaughtered and their high-quality meat is utilized.

Now it is our turn. The buffalo hides are far too precious and valuable to be disposed of after slaughter. That is why we also have the buffalo hides tanned in the Swabian Jura.

Water buffalo leather differs significantly from normal cowhide. It has shorter fibers and is therefore very soft and comfortable despite its thickness of up to 8mm. The surface structure is also different, featuring a wonderful, even grain.

High-quality workmanship! The water buffalo belts are made from 5 mm thick, vegetable-tanned leather from local animals. After the individual belt straps are cut, they are hand-dyed in the respective color. This collection features sturdy decorative stitching, making these belts incredibly robust companions.

The buckle is attached with a separate tongue, rather than the standard method of simply folding the end of the belt over and sewing the buckle on. This tongue is firmly secured and sewn by hand using a saddle stitch. The edges of the belt have been polished with beeswax.

Dimensions! The belt is 3.9 cm wide and available in various sizes/lengths.
