That's me
My name is Michael Cerny and I am the creator of Kreativwerke.

I was born in February 1987 at the foot of the Swabian Alb. Ever since I was a child, I have shared a deep-rooted passion for craftsmanship and artisanal work. It is this creative power that fascinates and drives me: creating things with my own hands, being creative, and letting my inner artist run wild. This is my true calling!
This passion and lifeblood, paired with my technical skills, live in every single one of my works and products. Anyone looking around my creative workshop will quickly notice my immense passion for traditional craftsmanship. I partly work with tools and machines from long-forgotten times. I believe this is the only way to reach the true core of HAND-craft and to pour all of my heart, soul, and learned experience into it. In doing so, I am always filled with reverence for the old masters who came long before me.
Recycling or repurposing—known today as "upcycling"—is another aspect that inspires me. For years, I have been a passionate collector of all kinds of rarities, historic machinery, and nostalgia. Working with these beautiful things, breathing new life into them, and seeing how they delight and bring joy to people is a wonderful feeling, my main driver, and my passion.
This is how, for example, a series of wallets was born out of the leather of old gymnastics vaulting boxes we all remember from school sports, leather bags crafted from old horse saddles that carry wonderful memories, or historic machines converted into stunning, unique custom tables.
After successfully completing two separate apprenticeships in the trades, I started my own business in 2010 to fully realize my potential and my creativity.
When you grow up as a free spirit like me, always wanting to make the world a better place while living out your creativity, you experiment with all kinds of materials and mediums. As a result, I can now offer a wide spectrum of works and products. Always in passionate perfection, with a love for traditional and true craftsmanship.
I look forward to continuing to work with my hands, to create, and to inspire.
Thank you for your appreciation,
Michael Cerny
