A passion for vintage sewing machines and extraordinary fabrics!
This was the reason why Michael Cerny began designing and sewing men's vests.
In his workshop, he creates unique vests using very high-quality fabrics. These are designed and sewn with absolute precision and craftsmanship.
This is a men's vest made from old historic grain sacks. The motif features a crown, heraldic lilies, and a cross. All dating back to 1918. Woven in a herringbone pattern. We were lucky enough to acquire a total of 14 of these sacks, allowing us to create several vests with this unique motif. We still wonder today who these sacks originally belonged to.
This material is truly hard, if not impossible, to find these days. That is why it is all the more wonderful when these fabrics, or rather grain sacks, are preserved, some with fantastic prints and years. These sacks exist in jute, hemp, or linen. This model is made of hemp fiber. A truly fascinating material that has unfortunately lost its significance in the present day. However, one should know that people all over Europe have been making clothing from hemp fibers for about 5,500 years.
Of course, these old sacks are true treasures for us as well and are by no means available in large quantities. However, over the years, we have collected and cleaned many of these sacks. Some are absolute rarities, with motifs, names, or locations that do not exist a second time.
The inner lining is a blue canvas.
These vests are sewn on old, in some cases even historic sewing machines, some of which can be found in our workshop. You can find the matching belt in our leather goods section.
We are happy to customize the vests to your individual measurements if standard sizes do not fit.
We can also manufacture vests using your personal choice of fabrics and colors.
The vest is made to order. Duration approx. 1-2 weeks. Also included are care instructions so that you can enjoy this unique piece for a long time.
